What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file stored by your browser when you visit a website. Cookies allow a site to recognise your browser between visits and to remember preferences, sessions, and analytics signals.
The cookies we use
Strictly necessary
Required for the site to work. They enable session management, authentication, and basic security. These cannot be turned off through our controls but you can block them in your browser, which will impair functionality.
Analytics
We use privacy-respecting analytics to understand aggregate readership — which sections are read most, where readers come from, and how performant our pages are. We do not use these signals to build advertising profiles of you.
Preferences
Lightweight cookies that remember your choices, for example a preferred theme or whether you have already dismissed a banner.
Advertising
Where Lumen Wire serves advertising, we may permit our ad partners to set cookies to measure campaign effectiveness. We do not allow cross-site behavioural targeting based on Lumen Wire reading data.
Managing cookies
Most browsers allow you to view, manage, delete, and block cookies. See the help menu of your browser for details. Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent parts of the site from functioning.
